Kacey's Artist Statement

Without a doubt, Kacey Cornwell’s life has been shaped by a love of nature. Whether exploring the deep northern woods or gathering shells on seaside beaches, Kacey is most content when immersed in the natural world. This passion for earth’s color and texture shows in her artwork. Her abstract or impressionistic mixed-media pieces convey an organic feeling through such diverse materials as paper, fabric, metal and paint.

Born in London, England, she immigrated to the United States in 1961. A journalism major at the University of Mississippi, she was a former newspaper reporter and public relations writer, before returning to art as a production artist. She first began selling her paintings in the early 1980’s. By the late 90’s, she was winning regional and purchase art awards.

Kacey is a member of International Society of Experimental Artists, Lowell Area Arts Council, Calligraphic Society of Grand Rapids and Grand Valley Artists. She is currently Art & Marketing Director at the Franciscan Life Process Center in Lowell, MI. She, her husband and two children have lived in Michigan since 1989.
